Apple isn't making a dock for the iPhone 5 and its lightning connector, but DIYer Casey Neistat shows us how to make a simple one out of wood for only $1.
It certainly isn't as pretty as Apple's old docks, but it'll certainly get the job done if you aren't the type of person that likes loose wires at their desk. All you need is a few scraps of wood and some miscellaneous screws (in fact, if you have a workshop, you probably have everything you need on hand already). Alternatively, you can buy one of the third party docks that will inevitably come out, but for now, this is a workable (and super cheap) solution. A simple coat of paint would probably keep it from looking so janky, too. Check out the video to see how to put it together.
